General Orientation Program |

A general orientation program was held at the amphitheater of the Aklan State University Banga Campus last June 29, 2006 which started at 8:30 and ends at 11:35 in the morning. The program started with a prayer followed by the singing of the national anthem and the ASU hymn.
“Today is an important event to know the members of the family of the
university” Dr. Benny A. Palma, the university president said. He
pointed out in his welcome remarks the 17% increase in the enrollment
especially in the Associate in Office Information Management (AOIM) and
Associate in Science and Health Education (AHSE), the establishment of
the College of Teacher Education (CTE) and the integration of
Information and Communication Technology (ICT). He ended up his speech
by expressing his appreciation to the students, faculty and staff with
their cooperation, commitment and dynamism in making the university an
institution.
 Faculty, Staffs and Students
The program’s highlight was the presentation of the university’s
faculty and staff. The order of the presentation is as follows: Office
of the President; General Administration and support Services Office;
Finance and Budget Office; Extension and Communications Services
Office; College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences; College of
Teacher Education; School of Arts and Sciences; School of Veterinary
Medicine; Graduate School; Office of the Student Affairs; Library and
Information Technology; Admission and Registrarship Office; Auxiliary
Services Office; Campus Planning Development and Management; Research
and Development Services Office; and the Information and Communication
Technology Office.
A visitor from Korea in the person of Dr. Seungjik Lee of Daewon
Science College, A Korean Internet Volunteer was given thanks and
appreciation for helping the university especially the ICT center.

There were intermission numbers rendered from the
high school department in the person of Ms. Jennivie Castillo of the
fourth year who gave a song number and from Mr. Bryan Joseph Parce of
the SAS Department who gave a keyboarding and song number.
Before the program ends, the announcement of the BSF board passer and
the dean’s lister were announced. It ended at 11:35 with Ms. Princess
Joy Calinao as the emcee.
