CHED Releases Tuition Fee SUPPORT Fund to ASU
ASU, Banga-The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) released an amount of One million nine hundred seventy four thousand two hundred eighty pesos (P1, 974,28.00) to the Aklan State University as Tuition Fee Support Fund for the School Year 2006-2007.
The said allotment of fund took effect through the signing of the
Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last June 6, 2006, between the Commission
on Higher Education (CHED), represented by its Chairman, Dr. Carlito S.
Puno and the Aklan State University represented by its President, Dr.
Benny A. Palma.
The CHED, recognizing the need to provide additional financial
support to the ASU to compensate for the non-increase in tuition and
other fees for the said School year, and for the University to upgrade
its institutional capability as well as sustain the development efforts
towards meeting the challenges of producing the required manpower
resources needed for accelerated national development, released the
said amount of to the said university.
This is in accordance with the CHED’s mandate of promoting
affordable, quality and relevant higher education that is accessible to
all, to ensure academic freedom and promote its exercise and observance
for the continuing intellectual growth, advancement of learning and
research, development of responsible and effective leadership,
education of high and middle level professionals and the enrichment of
our historical and cultural heritage in the Philippines.
The said fund will be of help in ensuring that the ASU can
continuously offer affordable education to deserving students without
sacrificing quality.
