The KALAHI (Kapit-bisig Laban sa Kahirapan) Farmers Center is designed to rationalize, integrate and institutionalize the delivery of agricultural extension services and technology  promotion at the provincial and regional levels to attain food security, agricultural  modernization and poverty reduction among farmers in the Agrarian Reform Communities. It was launched in 2004 through the Food and Agriculture Organization-Philippines-Australia Technical Support to Agrarian   Reform and Rural Development (FAO-PATSARRD) in partnership with 35 development partners (SUC, local government units, national line agencies, non-government organization, etc.)

In 2005, the KFC provided technology interventions through the conduct of training activities in agro-forestry  technologies, mangrove rehabilitation and  management,  organic farming, and planning  workshop on Palayamanan, which  benefited 103  Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs). Likewise, the Training on Collection and    Packaging, Nursery Management Techniques and Plantation Establishment of Nito at ASU and Training on Orchard Establishment and Management at Brgy. Oquendo,    Balete, Aklan on October 25, 2005 and December 6-7, 2005, respectively was conducted for the ARBs.
