DYMT-FM COMMUNITY RADIO
Overview

ImageIn its bid to stir public awareness, appreciation and understanding of the different informations and technologies, the Unit continues to develop promotional activities and provide communication support to its numerous programs, projects and activities through the DYMT Community Radio. Throughout its years of operation, DYMT has employed different strategies to be able to carry out effectively its mission as a community radio station such as:

Networking with government agencies, LGUs and other institutions.

At present, DYMT has seven cooperating agencies and institutions which have formal and direct involvement in its programming such as PhilRice, NFA, PhilHealth, PNP, LGU-Banga, ATI and religious institutions.

Localized programming and personalized broadcasting.

DYMT’s programming is attuned to the specific needs, interests and problems of people within its area of coverage. Thus, its programs are highly localized.

Audience involvement or participation.

DYMT emphasizes participatory broadcasting where listeners take part not only in the execution of the program but also in initiating social action. A classic example is the radio program “PatRole Sa Panguma Farmers’ School on the Air.” The program, hosted by ASU faculty members and agricultural technicians, initiated social action by enlisting the cooperation of the different groups concerned in the promotion of Integrated Crop Management for Rice and Hybrid Rice Commercialization Program not only in the Municipality of Banga but also in other municipalities. For wider technology dissemination, DYMT simulcasts with IBC-DYRG and the Community Broadcasting Information System (CBIS) of LGU Kalibo.
