The Aklan State University Banga and Makato Campuses were filled with excitement and cheer as it celebrated the Education Week from December 11 to 15, 2006.
The Week-long celebration started with a thanksgiving mass at the ASU Banga Amphitheater. It was followed by the formal declaration of the Opening of the Education Week 2006 with the theme: “Issues, Concerns and Challenges of the New Teacher Education Curriculum”

On its second day of celebration the students of CTE and other colleges
joined in parlor games, truly making it their day. In the afternoon,
the “Pamaskong Handog ng CTE” was held. It was a fun-filled day,
showcasing the various talents of the CTE students and faculty. The
amphitheater was filled with deafening cheers when the faculty took the
center stage and groove with the music, proving that the ASU-CTE
faculty are not only great in the classroom, they are wonderful
entertainers as well.
Meanwhile, the ASU Teacher Education Center, Makato Campus celebrated
the Education Week with the theme; “Learning to know, to do, to live
together and be in a global society” on December 13 to 15, 2006.

The three-day events were filled with intellectually and physically
challenging activities. There were Physical Fitness Presentation,
Exhibit Viewing and Quiz Bee for the first day. Several Skills
Contests for the students were held on the second day. Afterwards,
Technology Demonstrations were conducted featuring the Cassava Chiffon
Cake by Professors Alma I. Irader and Erly D. Regatalio of College of
Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) Home
Technology Department. Likewise, Waste Recycling by Prof. Elena
Tumbokon of TEC.
The three day affair ended with a Choral Contest and awarding
ceremonies in the morning and a Christmas party in the afternoon of
December 15, 2006.
