The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Aklan Chapter held a double celebration on December 17, 2006 at the Solteo Beach Resort, Mabilo, Kalibo, Aklan.

The said celebration consisted of the Induction of new elected officers of the chapter followed by a Christmas Party of the broadcasters of KBP member-stations.

The Vice Governor of the Province of Aklan, Hon. Ronquillo C. Tolentino graced the event as Inducting Officer and Guest Speaker.  In his message, he emphasized the importance and responsibilities of the media.  He challenged them to be vigilant to ensure that the freedom of the press could not be curtailed.

He also pledged Fifty Thousand Pesos (P50,000.00) for the Vice Governor’s Cup for the Aklan Media in 2007.

The newly elected officers led by the Chairman, Mr. Augusto C. Tolentino, IBC-DYRG Station Manager, are: Vice Chairman – Mr. Jerome T. Vega, RMN-DYKR Station Manager; Secretary – Mr. Randy Anthony A. Rebaldo, MBC-CBIS Operations Manager; Treasurer – Dr. Anna Mae C. Relingo, ASU-DYMT Community Radio Station Manager; Auditor – Mr. Jan Allen Ascaño, PBS-DYIN Bombo Station Manager; Performance Officer – Ms. Maggie S. Cudanin, MBC-Yes FM Boracay Station Manager; and Executive Secretary – Ms. Eleanor P. Defensor of IBC-DYRG.

After the induction rites, the members enjoyed the Christmas frolics.
