ASU Turns out 1,1942 Graduates

The Aklan State University’s five campuses held its commencement exercises for the Academic year 2006-2007 last week of March. The School of Rural Resources and Development Management (SRRDM) Ibajay Campus, turned out 353 graduates on March 26, 2007. The event was graced by the presence of the Representative of the Lone District of Aklan, Hon. Joeben T. Miraflores.

The Aklan State University’s five campuses held its commencement exercises for the Academic year 2006-2007 last week of March.

The School of Rural Resources and Development Management (SRRDM) Ibajay Campus, turned out 353 graduates on March 26, 2007. The event was graced by the presence of the Representative of the Lone District of Aklan, Hon. Joeben T. Miraflores.

Likewise, the School of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (SFMS) in New Washington with 225 graduates, School of Industrial Technology (SIT) in Kalibo, 923 graduates, and Teacher Education Center (TEC) in Makato with 81 graduates, held their commencement exercises in the afternoon of March 27, 28 and 29 respectively. The Representative of the Alliance of Volunteer Educators (AVE) Partylist, Hon. Eulogio “Amang” R. Magsaysay was the Guest of Honor in the said event in the three campuses.

Finally, the Campus in Banga scheduled its annual commencement exercises on March 30, 2007 at the ASU Amphiteater. The Chief Consul of the Embassy of Japan here in the Philippines, Mr. Kenjie Endo is expected to attend the event as the Guest of Honor. Mr. Endo has been a part of the ASU Community, formerly known as the Aklan Agricultural College (AAC), being the first Japanese Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV)

ASU’s President Emeritus, Dr. Helmar E. Aguilar, the University officials and members of the Board of Regents are expected to attend the occasion.

For this academic year, the ASU Banga campus turn out a total of 306 Bachelors degree holder; 69 are Bachelor in Secondary Education from the College of Teacher Education (CTE); 73 from the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) wherein 38 will obtain their certificates for the Associate in Office Information Management (AOIM) and 35 will receive their diploma in Bachelor of Arts, 23 Major in English and 12 Major in Mathematics,137 graduates are from the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences (CAFES). For the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture there is a total of 61 graduates with different majors; 39 are from the Bachelor of Science in Home Technology (BSHT); 9 from Bachelor of Science in Forestry; 4 from Bachelor of Animal Science; and 5 from Bachelor in Agricultural Technology. Likewise, 6 gradates will receive their Diplomas in Agricultural Technology and two will receive certificates in Agri-business Secretarial Course. Similarly, the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) will produced 15 Doctors of Veterinary Medicine graduates.

For the Graduate School, the university turns out 9 new Doctors of Philosophy and 16 Masters Degree holders. Similarly, the Regional Graduate Studies Consortium have 14 graduates of Masters Degrees in different disciplines.
