Jannel Leo Leyson, a freshman BS Civil Engineering student of ASU-CIT, grabbed the second spot in the recently concluded 17th Philippine Statistic Quiz-Aklan Provincial Chapter last October 28, 2008 at the STI Audio Visual Hall-Kalibo.

Among the 40 participants coming from the different private and public colleges in the province, Leyson rose from the rank after garnering points in the difficult around. Jannel was coached by Engr. Myrna Patacsil, ASU-CIT faculty. 

“I did not expect to get the 2nd place; after all, the contest was too tough. Some items were beyond my know-how to compute,” expressed Jannel in an interview.

The top three on the aforesaid quiz contest will represent the province for the regional finals to be held in Iloilo City on November 13, 2008. Preparing for the next level, Jannel and his coach have been keeping themselves prepared for the next challenges.

“Win or lose in the regional does not matter. What is most important here is the experience gained by Jannel,” said Engr. Patacsil.
