Overview
 CAFES Building
The College of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Science, is the first degree granting College of the University. In 2001, the re-organization and restructuring of the Aklan State University led to the creation of the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Science which is composed of seven departments: Crop and Soils, Animal Science, Economics and Business, Extension and Community Development, Agricultural Engineering, Forestry and Environmental Science, and Home Science.
As mandated, the College offers undergraduate and graduate curricular programs such as Bachelor of Science in Agriculture majors in animal science, crop science, soil science, agricultural economics, agricultural extension, agricultural engineering, agro forestry and agricultural extension; Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF); Diploma in Agricultural Technology-Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Technology (DAT-BAT); Bachelor in Animal Science (BAS); Agribusiness Secretarial Course, Bachelor of Science in Home Technology (BSHT) and Graduate Programs leading to Master of Animal Science (MAS), and Master of Rural Development (MRD).

The CAFES is committed to produce globally competent agriculturists, foresters, environmentalists, technologists, professionals, leaders, entrepreneurs and farmers through equitable, quality, relevant curricular programs in agriculture, forestry and environmental science enriched by breakthroughs of research, effectiveness of extension and and efficiency of production

Objectives
- To offers undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate curricula in agriculture, forestry, home and environmental sciences.
- To train students of research and extension work in agriculture forestry, home and environmental sciences.
- To provide technical instruction in agriculture, forestry, home and environmental science.
- To inculcate desirable values and ethics for professionals in the industry.
- To train would-be entrepreneurs and farmer leaders.
- To periodically enrich the curricular programs for its relevance to the need of the industry.
- To continuously upgrade the facilities and laboratories to support the curricular programs.
- To train and retool the faculty and staff.

ASU
receives 5M Research Fund
Sen. Edgardo Angara approved the
release of the Five Million Pesos Research Fund last July 17, 2008 from
the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to Aklan State University
(ASU) pursuant to RA No.9498, The General Appropriations Act, Fiscal
Year 2008 for its innovation and generation of knowledge and technology
in Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Production.

university in the recently concluded 18th Regional Symposium on
Research and Development Highlights (RSRDH) in Baybay, Roxas City..

Agency In-House Review Held
Banga, Aklan – The annual Agency
In-House Review of Aklan State University-Research and Development
Services (ASU-RDS) was conducted on July 17-18, 2008 at the ASU
Function Hall, Banga, Aklan. It was participated by the different
colleges and schools in Banga and four external campuses of the
University.

receives P5M CHED SAFE Scholarship grant
Banga, Aklan – The Aklan State
University through its President, Dr. Benny A. Palma received a
scholarship grant worth P5 million from the Commission on Higher
Education (CHED) through the Student Fund for Education for Scholarship
(SAFE Scholarship).

Dr . Benny A. Palma, President, ASU,
is appointed as Officer-In-Charge, Office of the President, Carlos
Helado Memorial State College( CHMSC), Talisay City, Negros Oriental by
Dr. Luningning Misuarez-Umar, CHED Commissioner and CHMSC Board of
Trustee Chair-designate, effective August 1, 2008.
